全球领导地位 Certificate

The 全球领导地位 Program fosters the development of compassionate, aware global citizens while building skills in leadership, 沟通, 公民行动.

The program offers a way to recognize Upper School students who embrace opportunities to learn more about world issues and events, make connections across borders, dedicate themselves to service, and have made a strong commitment to preparing themselves to live in a globalized world.

Students explore a global theme each year, educate each other and the MVCDS community on the theme, and then take action locally and globally.

Students may enroll at any time during their freshman or sophomore year; however, it is strongly suggested that students enroll as early as possible to allow for a greater amount of time and more flexibility in meeting the requirements of the program. Interested juniors should consult with the GLP co-directors to plan a viable path toward certification (if certification is desired).
Students participating in GLP will be:

- Three and a half credits of social studies (including electives and 研究)
- One globally relevant Intensive
Choose two or more GLP-relevant classes, such as these examples. (Several also count toward the social studies requirement.):

Students must complete the following:
- Take a leadership role on a GLP committee or on 问题一天

- Participate in two or more of these GLP- relevant activities:
  - Community Action service opportunities
  - Involvement in the Dayal House (organize an off campus activity for residents, work with students at study tables at least once a week, 做一名Dayal House的RA)

  - Foreign Language Club (create one and organize activities)
  - ESL暑期课程
  - Host an International Student
  - International intensive
  - GLP theme-related book clubs/book talks
